Luck or Karma

I have heard, people saying unlucky and/or lucky for any consequences, they happen to meet. Most of the time it make me wonder, are there any such things exist as luck. I could not understand yet, how could luck make things happen to anyone, if that person is not doing his/her karma.

I do believe in karma rather than luck because one must study to pass his exams. One must eat to survive. If there was any such things as luck, why people would work had to get paid. There is a Nepali proverb, which says"milking cow in basket does not work whether you are lucky or not", a rough translation. Someone has to make right decision, pursue hard work with dedication for getting a desired result. We can find dozens of examples to justify this argument such as consider Bill Gates, who became a richest man in the world not because he was lucky, rather he made right choice and dedicated his life in computer technology as well as new way of business. Same things happened to Hillary and Sherpa who succeeded Mount Everest, because of their dedication, preparation, and highest eagerness to summit the mountain.

I have seen many people who go to temples, churches and even read horoscope to figured out luck. Many times they do things as horoscope says for getting things happen as they desire and ending with unwanted result. Bad results happened because people relied on luck and did not do hard work and put dedication on.

Therefore, if you really want things to happen, you must work on it. Your right decision, hard work, and dedication only bring your desired results to you.
